At Lombardi Honda, located in Montreal near both the North and the South Shores, we believe in “classic” cars, and that’s why we’re so excited about the 2018 Honda Accord.

It’s a well-known fact that in the automotive industry (but not only), it’s sometimes better to not change a winning formula. Honda understands that perfectly and applied these wise words to the 2018 Accord. This intermediary sedan is thus highly functional and reputable while looking incredibly modern. Among the few changes made to this ageless classic, we should mention the additional room in the cabin, the simplified connectivity… and the disappearance of the V6 engine! The 2018 Accord also features a longer wheelbase that gives it a gorgeous profile.

Performance

The 2018 Honda Accord comes with 2 engines options, both turbo, one 1.5-liter while the second is a 2-liter unit. The base engine (1.5-liter) is a lot faster than what its spec sheet suggests, but it can be a bit underwhelming in steep settings. However, it should be more than enough for the vast majority of its intended clientele.
The 2-liter option is powerful, but that’s about it. There is nothing exciting about this powertrain, even when the turbo kicks in, and frankly, there is no reason to choose this option over the base engine.

Drivers will be pleased by the fairly low consumption (and noise) of both powertrains. In normal driving conditions, we’re talking 8-9 L/100 km, which is impressive considering the kind of engines that run under the hood.

The new automatic transmission is also a welcome addition. It’s quicker and snappier than the previous version and shifts speed with an unparalleled precision.

Comfort and Technology

Honda has not always been a frontrunner in terms of automotive technologies, but it seems that the 2018 Accord is marking a turning point. Its infotainment system is intuitive and almost funny to use, and it obviously includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2018 Accord’s cabin got totally revamped to include lighter volumes, more sophisticated linings and an aerial design. If the front seats are a bit cramped, especially on the sport version, big up to the back seats that can fit 3 adult passengers with comfort.

The 2018 Honda Accord is a well-balanced intermediary sedan and is satisfying in part due to its driving comfort. It’s sophisticated and provides an excellent value for the money. Come at once to Lombardi Honda, located in Montreal near both the North and the South Shores, to see for yourself and test this classic reinvented. You will not be disappointed!
