What should a car manufacturer do to renew a model that has been at the top of the continent's best-selling vehicles for 20 years? That's the big challenge Honda faces year after year with the legendary Civic, and for the 2019 edition of this model, they've taken a very smart approach, which is not change the features that consumers have voted for with their wallets and simply add subtle improvements here and there to the range. In order to form your own opinion on the relevance of this decision, you are invited to visit Lombardi Honda, your dealer located in Montreal, near both the North and the South Shores, to see and try the 2019 Honda Civic.

The Devil is In the Details

If after a glance you think the 2019 Honda Civic didn’t receive any cosmetic improvement since the previous model, take a closer look. The front of the vehicle has undergone small changes that will not go unnoticed by the most observant among you: the upper part of the front wing is now painted in black and the front grille now forms a whole rather than 3 separate sections as on previous models. More importantly, a Sport version (only available on hatchbacks until now) has been added to the model's sedan and coupe variants. This new version will include black accents on the lower part of the front grille, black 18-inch wheels and a central exhaust pipe similar to the one found on the Civic Si. Finally, the safety and driver assistance suite Honda Sensing is now standard on all Civic (and will be on all Honda models by 2022), providing them with a collision avoidance system with safety warning, a road exit mitigation system with an unintentional lane departure warning and an adaptive cruise control.

A Solid Performance That You Can Count On

The performance of the 2019 Civic is an aspect that the manufacturer didn’t touch, and its customers will certainly be delighted with this decision. The Honda Civic still comes in DX, LX, SE, EX, Si and Si HFP on the sedan and coupe versions to which we must now add the Sport version. The basic version of the model comes with a 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine capable of generating 174 horsepower. The higher versions can be equipped with turbo and turbo directly injected engines that can generate respectively 180 and 206 horses. Plus, the Civic Type R remains available for fans of performance (300 horsepower!) and reliability.

Have you ever regretted investing in a Civic? Surely not. Your next one is waiting for you at Lombardi Honda, your dealer located in Montreal, near both the North and the South Shores.
